Noticed a lot of attempted or succesful car thefts on the BBS over a period of time!

Listen guys, I'm from Birmingham and this place has the worst car theft rate, especially regarding imprezas!

I was talking to a guy not so long back who had done time in prison. He clocked I was driving a scoob and said that people in prison were telling him how they steal cars in general. I cannot say how they do it, cause you don't know who's reading this stuff on the BBS. Given the right amount of time they will take it, even with alarms, gearbox locks, steering locks, trackers, etc!

He said the only way to really stop a person starting the car and driving it off is for you to physical take a part of the the engine bay or dis-connect wires, etc. Its gonna take time for them to figure out whats missing or dis-connected. Its a bit drastic, but if it makes you feel happier where you leave your car so be it!
(But you carn't really stop them putting it on a trailer and taking it that way)!

hi there,

I agree with that, On my 97' sport (gone to a better place now) I found that if you pulled a certain hose off the intake system, to car would not start at all.
