Default Servicing

My car is due a 30,000 mile service and I'm wondering of getting it done at power engineering as I don't relly like my local dealer. But will this make a difference to the future pricing as I won't have full subaru service history? I'm guessing it depends on the buyer privately as PE are well known and respected, but what if I want to trade it in, as private subaru buyers are very scarce.

Thanks

You also have to consider the warranty. Only cars registered after the removal of block exemption can be serviced anywhere which is suitably skilled, VAT registered and using OE components. As the ruling wasn't retroactive, even though they are the same car, the legal loophole will allow them to deny a warranty claim on cars prior to (I think ) may 04 which have been serviced by non-frachised garages unless you can get approval from IM. There is also a technicality which because the 1st year is provided by Subaru, block exemption removal means you can have a post may 04 car serviced anywhere suitable in the 1st year, but the 2nd and 3rd years are a 3rd party warranty provided by IM and has the clause insisting on franchised servicing.

I'll have a hunt around for some more details as my mate Dazza went through this recently, and my 30k is due very soon too

Clicky The last post on page 2 answers the question. Althogh the "spoke to some manager" bit is a little vague.

Thanks. Also how much is the 30K service at Subaru? About 400 notes?

30k is about £450 at Subaru, you'll save a few ££'s at a specialist, but do be sure you are getting a like for like quote as many of the specialists have their own schedules. Sub 30k/3 yr is: replace engine oil & filter, coolant, fuel filter, air filter, plugs, tannie & diff oil. Sub or specialist is a subjective decision, when you come to sell most people will always look for a FSSH ('cause thats what every buyers guide says), unless they are already in the Scooby community they won't know the likes of PE from a dodgy back street garage.
