Why do people insist on putting new age scoops on classic scoobs??

The scoops were designed for the car they come on! They follow the contours (sp) of the bonnet. New age scoobs are generally more beefy than classics and if you were to put a classic scoop on one it would just look odd, wouldn't it?!

It's the same way about for new age scoops and classic cars!!

I'm thinking about putting this one on my STi!

 

Trying to be the devils advocate here, maybe they are for performance reason, the bigger newage scoop fitted along with a larger intercooler should I recon increase the charge density quite a bit.

But then for some maybe its just a max power thing???
