In light of the recent thread beign brought to light; Im seekign some advice.

As a few of you know I was flashed at 93mph in a 60 in Scotland the other month. Now I initially said it was me driving and today a notice has come to say Im going to get done for it. Now my question is...Do I plead guilty by post, go to court or take a solicitor and try the Eu loophole of self Incriminiation??

Cheers for any advice, I havent really got the time to mince around going to court but Id rather know what I stand to lose by pleading guilty by post.

I'd get some professional legal advice, but as you've already admitted your guilt in writing, it might make things a bit harder.

Exclamation

Take a good solicitor with you as I got caught in the Lakes 3 years ago doing 101 mph in a 50 limit. At the time I was in a company car which was an Escort Desiel. I ended up with 6 points and a big fine, this took me to 12 conditional points at the time. The cost of the solicitor was worth every penney because the next person in the court got done in the same place went in without a solicitor was doing 87 and got banned for 1 month.

Darren

Conditional Points? What does that mean?

Sorry to be thick!

At the end of the day, I was indeed breaking the speed limit and was caught, tough luck. However as this new EU thing has come to light Im reluctant to accept this. However as I stated I have neither the time to muck about with the courts (im out of my depth anyway) nor the pennies to get a solicitor. The worst case is I pay a solicitor and still get stung with the fine/points/both.

I am starting to think pleading by post is the sensible thing to do and fingers crossed will walk away with a fixed penalty. I just need to be more careful in future.
