Ok the run down, Was giving it some big gas, In my MY04 with a well illegally spaced number plate, changing between 2nd and 3rd the Ninja exhaust was singing And then i saw him a rozzer on foot I was in a thirty ( one of them silly ones no danger at all ), He was about 300 yards in front with his back to me. Hit the brakes managed to get to about 50 estimated ! He looked back the car was on its nose ! Too late He just stepped into the road and signalled for me to pull in, oh bollox i thought.

Conversation went like this, Just a routine check, do you own this vehicle ? Er yeah. Just checking that it's not stolen but i guess you would have tried to run me down ? Er i suppose so ? Have you insurance ? Yeah with tesco's ! . Are you known to the police ? Have you ever been arrested ? Er no ! Ok then was just a routine check, just watch that right foot !

oopps orificer i hit the clutch instead of the brake. But thats what u get for jumping infront of a speeding car.

I know ! But like i said was one of those silly 30's No danger whats so ever and i guess he knew that's why he did'nt !

 

It sounds like you got off very lightly.

From reading your post, and i may have misread it, i thought you said you were in a 30 mph limit and crash braked DOWN to 50mph.

There's a time and a place for flooring it, and a 30 limit isn't it.

I think most people would have thrown the book at you for that!

 

think you were lucky he didnt have a speed gun, dont think he would of been so nice then would he

 

I'm not proud of it ! just saying common sence prevails sometimes, I never speed in dangerous areas, ie schools and estate's !

I'd always thought 30 limits were in place in built up areas for a reason but maybe i'm a bit behind the times...

So, how fast were you going?

 

I was about to leave a 30 into a 60 except he was in the 60 and i was still in the thirty, Dunno how fast was watching the road rather than the speedo thats why i spotted him ! Was just changing into third though and it was howling.

 

can't believe your all moaning at simpsons about speeding in a thirty, we all have moments of weakness and i have loads of roads at 30 by me that could easily be national speed limit!. Just my thoughts.
