Unhappy

I've been thinking about getting Armourfend put on my car, and got a price list from them. Prices seem to have gone up quite a bit, at least for the popular bits.

The June price list gives the following prices (all exclude VAT):

Bonnet £99.95
Wing Ends £14.95
Front Bumper £149.95
Front Grill £49.95
Section below Air Intake £39.95
Top of Rear Bumper £39.95
Front Wheel Arches £19.95
Rear Wheel Arches £29.95
Door Sills £39.95
Spot/Foglights £29.95
Side lights £29.95
Indicators £14.95
Headlights £29.95
Wing Ends £14.95
Inner Door Handles £19.95
Door Mirrors £15.00

That lot comes to £624.30 before VAT.

Installation was quoted as £50 for one piece, up to £150 for the full kit.
Apparently, if you order 5 items for one car, you get a 20% discount. It still means though that if you order the 5 most likely items from the list (the top 5) the bill is still going to come to £333 plus fitting.

Expensive!

Thumbs down

Whilst I know a lot of guys have had a good experience with Armorfend, I for one don't rate them at all.

Their service is not very professional, the product is very expensive, and it comes off easily with jet washers.

Also, and perhaps most importantly, even after spending 600 pounds, there are still parts of the front bumper which can not be covered and hence chip!

I've forgotten who, but a chap on this forum had this problem with his STi, and he had the car lacquered by a body shop for 200 pounds. He claims it's completely chip resistant, and after so many thousand miles, is unmarked. I would look into that option for sure.
