Why put up a post if you are going to ignore the replies

This has happened twice to me now in the private/wanted sections.
Someone states that they either want to sell or buy something and I dutifully reply.
I wait and wait and get no response.
Am I alone in thinking that even if the item/items have been sold or sourced elsewhere that it would be polite to reply or am I completeley wrong????????
IT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL

Hey there,
As for private/wanted sections, as soon as a post goes up for someone selling something good, people always e-mail instead of posting- quicker replies and quicker to get your foot through the door. You'll notice how fast people selling 4pot brakes are e-mailed around a billion times.
Don't know about the rest though,
Ian
I agree it would be good for a reply at least... (think i have been guilty of that once )

I'll enter this debate later in the week if I don't get communication from someone who has received £450 of my money after accepting an offer in the 'Private' section of the BBS...but as yet not had the decency to let me know when I'll be getting my goods
