You'll get a fairly well used turbo for that (although they're generally pretty tough - they tend to fail suddenly at any age rather than gradually showing signs of mechanical wear) - but do check insurance and servicing costs before you commit yourself. Buying a scooby can be a lot easier than keeping it on the road! You'll easily see 20mpg or even less if you have a heavy right foot.

I bought this for £5100 two months ago. M 1994 WRX, 96k miles, tracker, Cat1 a/i, full de-cat, full colour coding, V5 spoiler etc. etc.
Running about 280bhp with Optimax and OB, about 18-20 mpg. Minor service cost me £70, majors cost about £150-200 apart from 90k which costs about £500-600.
Good hunting
