Anyone know where I can get a policy for my car to be covered for Fire and Theft but not road use, miles per year zero etc? I want a policy to have it covered but not to be used if this makes sense. I did get a phone number for someone who covers this but lost it in the meantime!

Hopefully...

Tim,

Many of the kit-car insurance companies will do this. HEre are a few numbers:

Hill House Hammond: 01733 310899
Adrian Flux: 01553 777888
Footman James: 0121 561 4196
Sureterm Direct: 0700 2020230

I've got a laid up car - like its just the chassis with the rest of the car in boxes, in the roof, in another garage etc. It will be like it for a few more years.

I had a laid up insurance, but the premiums kept increasing and at £75 I thought it was poor value.

I went to my house contents insurer and its now on the house contents as a named as a specific item and with no increase in premium :-)
