Anyone know which air filter to fit to P1?
You know for the standard air box(cant be arsed to fit induction kit)
Does anyone know if I will see an improvement in performance?

Cool

You could consider removing the resonator from your STI's inner wing and fitting a K+N replacement element in the airbox... this will give a healthy increase in the flow without too much noise increase.

Moray,
What exactly is the "resonator"?
I fitted a K&N panel this week but didn't remove anything other than the OE filter.
Regards,
Chris

Cool

Chris,

The resonator is a big plastic box fitted in the vehicles wing. The standard airbox has to draw it's air through the resonator, which reduces induction noise and also reduces airflow efficiency in the process.

If you remove the resonator, you will improve airflow through the airbox, save a bit of weight and increase the induction noise a little. If you decide to remove the unit, it is a fairly good idea to ensure you seal the airbox to the opening in the wing, so you don't start inducting air from the engine bay.
