Default different model specifications

I am a noob to this group, and am in the process of researching to buy an impreza by around christmas (need to save up, plus will be 24 by the time i can afford so insurance cheaper). i am quite confused by all the specifications, particularly by the mention on some sites of a 2.5 RS. is this a USA model?

is there a particular site that has a list of models and specs details etc.

so far i am looking at an STI V. i reckon around 10,000 is that a near estimate?

would it be cheaper/easier to buy a standard uk 2000 turbo and spend what i would save over an sti and just uprate turbo, brakes and body?

thanks in advance for any help

The 2.5RS is an American model.

Insurance should be a lot cheaper for you on a UK model. Imports would be very expensive to insure at 24. Remember even the standard UK Turbos are quick - even without modifications.

Cheers,

Ian.
