somewhere around that mark for a subaru dealer, yours seems a little on the dear side though.

Have you tried ringing around?

That's pretty bad for a standard one - dependant on where you are in the country try:

here for starters (they're only about £330 for a 30K service)

Or if your further up north then here instead

New age plug change at 60,000 miles, not 30,000. Look in the maintenance schedule, this may save a few quid, unless you have a reason to change them?

I'm looking around at the moment as I own a 01 wrk and the cheapest quote i've had is £350 from an official subaru dealer.

If it's from a dealer then it's probably £350.00 plus VAT i.e. £411.25.

I was quoted this by a dealer but the bill came in at just over £450.00

Would have thought that specialists such as Xtreme Scoobies, TSL, etc would be cheaper than a dealer.

Cheers

Chris

I've just had my 30k service done (EU import MY02 PPP) and my bill was £444 - and I provided my own (DS2500) brake pads for them to fit too !

Had a quote from TSL £468 incl. parts.

I would usually get my brother to do it but I want to keep the full service history. Can anyone tell me if the new age scoobys need only a service one a year? I was told this by my subaru dealer but the service book (which is from the countries of benelux) states every 6 months?

MY01/02 cars bought in the UK are 10k service intervals ; for exactly the same car but sourced from EU the service interval is 7.5k or 6 months whichever is soonest.

I was also quoted £430 for the 30,000 mile on my B4.

I got all the fluids changed at a Specialist garage - therefore stamp and receipt, and then did the plugs and air filter myself.

All in about £200.

I have always done this get the minimum service form the dealer for the stamp, and do the other items / their recommedations done yourself, although I do accept warrantied cars are different.

Default re service interval of benelux

Although the service interval for a benelux car states 7.5k or 6mths which ever is sooner, the car manual states 7.5k or 12mths (on an MY02 WRX). It is the manual which counts as far as the warranty is concerned. I actually managed to get Subaru benelux to confirm this. Hope this helps.

Just dropped my car for 30,000 Service at Oakley Garage near Bedford.
They were a Franchise dealer till recently and still have same technicians etc.
Was quoted £250 + vat . But have suppled my own oil,so should work out cheaper.
Subaru dealer quoted £580 ish.
Hope they do a good job.
Will let you know tomorrow, after I pick the car up.(MY2000 Classic.)
Was put in touch with the garage by a thread I started a month or so ago.
Although do not know anybody that has used this garage yet.
They assured me they would use genuine Subaru parts.
