STI+PPP Performance Comparisons
I have always been impressed with my Bugeye STI + PPP
however I discovered there is NO obvious differance in real world road performance over an MY03WRX +PPP or a MY98classic + PPP or even an early standard MY96STI up to silly speeds.
This is my own experience uninfluenced by magazines etc
The variety of cornering characteristics may be shown up on a track but on the road they all seem to go round a corner pretty much the same way too.
I wonder why its worth buying anything other than a WRX + PPP unless you like the looks of the STI or intend to track it regularily.
I wonder if the WR1 will prove to be very similar to the others as well?

I guess its down to more than shear speed. Okay, a My03/4 PPP WRX is as fast to 60 mph on paper but the STI offers 1/ better steering feel/quicker rack. 2/ Awesome cornering ability 3/ blue seats 4/ lovely exterior details. I want ONE having driven one

there is that many modded classics that will make a wr1 look like a standard uk impreza its not even worth mentioning

I recently changed from MY03 WRX + PPP to MY53 STi + PPP (got a good deal!) and the reason for the change was it IS a different car. OK still lags a bit at low revs but the torque pulls you through all the gears in an amazingly responsive way. As for cornering and braking I think the STi is leagues ahead of the WRX. I'm sure there's room for improvement (always is) but I'll get to know the motor and enjoy the warranty before venturing down to TSL!!!

Hi to all newby here, Ive got 04 Sti ppp and the Sti is a very different car, Ive driven MY00, MY01WRX but the Sti has mor torque Different suspension, diffs, gearbox,interior, bremo's plus more. Its the best decision ive made and my grin gets bigger every day!
