PPP ?
I`m interested in getting my MY02 WRX , PPP`d because I want the extra performance now , but don`t want to wait until the warrenty runs out , but want to keep the warrenty. And was wondering if it is possible to have the ecu retuned after it has been done, to take advantage of later added tuning efforts,Ie decatting. If not i`ll wait a year and go to TSL.

PPP consisted of Removal of one Both cat's and B/Box. Then replaced with a single Sports cat and P/Drive B/Box and £1600 . The ECU is now remapped(early 02 PPP's were PiggyBack/Daughterboard Chip and would need to be removed prior to a Remap). IIRC
To get the added Drivabilty and maintain Warranty VGVFM IMHO but that value may diminish the nearer you get to the end of Warranty. But remember Subaru "Extended" 3 to 5 year warranty and the 2 year "Subaru" warranty plan, may still only allow PPP as the only engine mod
saying that you could after Warranty get it EcuTek'd at TSL or the like with the existing Exhaust system or with a new B/Box
Hope this helps

I went for the PPP on my MY00 for warranty reasons. It is now 4 years old and I have the warranty extended to 5 years. The actual cost of extending the warranty to 6, 7, 8... years is irrelevant if the car has not hit the 60K miles mark. My car has only done 33K miles so I'm going to take advantage of the warranty for as many years as I can manage.
My mate's P1 gearbox just went t!ts up at 45K and he was looking at a £5K+++ bill. Good thing he had the extended warranty.
I wouldn't own one of these cars without a warranty, but that's my choice! If you are not going to bother with warranty extensions, etc, then you might as well get a full decat and a tek3 remap now and save yourself the hassle of getting a PPP and then upgrading at a later date.
It depends what kind of person you are - I don't like big surprises like engine rebuilds and gearbox failures!!!
Mark.

also the ecu's have a surcharge of about £1000 on them so they have to be returned to prodrive or the garage has to pay the surcharge, so it's very unlikely you will be able to have it back your best bet would be to buy a second hand one.
