Thumbs up Forrester info please

Guys,

I`ve got a friend looking to get a Forrester, is there any site where I can find impartial info on the car or is there seen a BBS for this car?

Can anyone make a comparison with a BMW 3 as the car will be used for school runs and asda?

Any advice would be gretly appreciated,

Chris.

Chris,
Try subaruforster.com/forum/index.php for helpful advice.
The UK slant is found in the Europe section.

There are also quite a few bods on here with Foresters who can help.
If you want to do the school run then the 2.5 litre turbo Forester STi will be the one to go for
It all depends on how much you want to spend, fuel consumption (turbo will be heavy for nothing else but school runs). There is not diesel version, only petrol 2.0 or 2.0 turbo. The Japanese version trubos pack more punch but that may not be what you want for just morning work.
The drivers view is more commanding but as the Forester is a rebodied Impreza, it'll be compact and lightweight, making a pleasant change from other 4 x4s.
Load space is excellent for shopping.

I bought one for the wife(an MY04 XT). We both really like the car, and is probably the best all rounder that Subaru do. It'll do the off road thing if you want it to, handles and goes well enough to enjoy it and is high enough not to look out of place on the school run.

It's also really well equipped(at XT level) with cruise control and heated seats being particually welcome. Ride and refinement are probably a little worse than a BM 3 series, but there is a lot more boot space. Go and try one out is probably the best bet.

Hi M8

The forrester is an excellent motor we have one (03 XT) instead of the Impreza, due to going down to one car, and it has and is a gr8 alrounder as stated above, good spec in XT version, very reasonable performance, lots of room if being used for school/day to day family stuff.

Pics in gallery, even though all know what they look like, oooooppsss

OOps - sorry , I wish the spell check still existed!
Must also point out that Forester is not double "rr" to be pedantic
