Post Unmodified STI's

I have just read a thread which says that some uk STI;s are around 280BHP in standard form & some STI PPP are only pumping out as little as 250BHP. Can anybody confirm if this is correct?
Has anybody had there beast on the rolling roads? if so what were you figures.

As im sure someone will tell ya soon enough you really cant read an awfull lot into what one power run on the RR says...... Every set of rollers seems to come up with different results, temp and atmospheric conditions make massive differences as does car temp when the run is done.....I ran my MY03 STi at power station in that 40 degree weather last year with de-cat and induction kit (now gone) and made 282BHP. I bet if I ran it a few weeks later on different rollers the results would have been totally different. What it drives like is so much more important in my mind

282 included a full de-cat remember and as these cars have 2 CAT's they are pretty heavily restricted when they leave the factory.

Im pretty sure most of the PPP cars who have been on the RR have acheived at least 300BHP.

I ran an RR Day at G-Force and Lemmys car ran 290bhp (PPP). I have only heard of one PPP doing the full 305! The other STi's were PPP'd but running a full de-cat and they were doing 310bhp+
- I don't know anyone with a bog standard STi who has put it on the rollers.

SirFozz,
Are you running yours at Extreme scoobies? I live only 3 miles away and may turn up. I have a std Sti and would like to see yours run.

We've run quite a few standard STi 7/8 cars - as we run a power test before we upgrade the cars to give us a starting point. ALL the STi cars we've run have produced from 265-269bhp on optimax.

The best PPP car we've seen is 293bhp - the average for the PPP is 283-285. The exhaust system is the key to decent performance which is why the de-cat cars produce so much extra power. However, you will create problems if you bolt a decent exhaust onto the car without re-mapping. A genuine 3" or 3.5" internal diameter exhaust will create massive boost spikes and need the ecu to be re-mapped immediately. Massive boost spikes - read 1.8 Bar!!

Cheers,

Chris

Exclamation

My MY02STi did at Powerstation Std 261Bhp and 289Bhp with PPP.

I once was concern about the low reading but figures aren't what PPP is all about

I only have to remember what it was like prior to PPP a pig to drive PPP transform my STi into a drivable car

Tony

Ps these figure are from memory but will check tomorrow when I get home

Oh yes!

Although quite a few at the Rolling Road were getting lower readings than they were expecting (after spending quite alot of money on mods). Some with PPP, some with Ecutek etc. Not everyone was happy!

Some good figures quoted guys, seem that the average sti uk is aprrox 270bhp.
I have heard rumours that the new PPP (04) is better than the old PPP (02) can anybody confirm this?

I dont think anything has officially been said yet about 04 PPP......however I guess with the WR1 being up on power there is no reason for PPP to not be increased

However the WR1 has much shorter service intervals so perhaps PPP on the STi will remain lower to ensure its driveability on a daily basis
