Question Switchable Maps?

Ive had the scoob 12 months now and the self imposed 'no mods' limit has passed and Im thinking of a brain transplant. Ive heard rumors that cars with the later ECU's MY99? onwards can have switchable maps uploaded that are triggered by switch settings on start up. Any one konw who, why were and how much?

ta

Carl.

AFAIK the "map switching" is possible on MY01 ECUs and later. It's possible because the ECU has the ability to hold two sets of maps - originally intended for manual and auto transmission. The "switch" for toggling the maps is changed from being gearbox-related to something more convenient, i.e. a cabin control. From what I've read on SN it's commonplace to use WOT + rear-demister as the toggle.

The feature doesn't exist on the ECUs of 'Classic' Imprezas.

...forgot to add that this is made available through reprogramming the ECU with ECUtek software. There's a list of 'outlets' on their website (http://www.ecutek.com).
