Had been driving my MY99 quite hard for about half an hour, stopped to grab a bite allowed tick over before turning off, jumped back in pulled away and had to accellerate hard to join traffic, lights changed so clutch went in and it died, started first turn no problem, ticks over happily at 850rpm and has never cut out before, could this be the MAF sensor starting to play up even though tick over is fine?Have recently replaced oiled filter for STI after hearing horror stories about oiled filters.Car did 3k on oiled filter always had standard filter before that.

 

MAF sensor or not, I'd recommend getting the newer MAF to replace the original MAF Subaru used in 99/00s, which had a recall in the US.
