I've just finished the first 1k in a new STi8 (and very nice it is too). One thing I've noticed is that the exhaust note resonates loudly thru-out the cabin at about 4000 rpm. Is this normal?

 

Standard Sti8 exhaust aren't loud. Turn your hearing aid down !!

Sorry Tony I don't know as I have never ever had a standard exhaust on mine even from picking up from the dealer. Fit a firestorm like I did and then your 'noise' at 4000 rpm will fade into insignificance !!!!

You'll have to ask one of the standard owners

mine is standard jdm spec, and its very very quiet, no noise at 4k rpm

 

Got an Sti-8 and I get a resonance at about 4000rpm, esp when coming down the rev scale (don't notice it on the way up).

Assumed it was normal...
