Dear Scoobynetters,

Does anyone know how to disable the passenger side airbag on my MY03 WRX car?

My re'search' revels the following:
+ Topic: Passenger airbag
+ Topic: Can the passenger airbag be turned off?

The first details a connector above the glove box in a MY98/99 and the other a resistor that needs fitting.

In summary, nothing concrete yet. Can anyone else provide any advice?

Also, any issues regarding insurance?

Obviously I'll be continuing to research this via dealer and insurer and post what I find here for discussion.
-Steve.

Your dealer should be able to disable it for you but they will probably need you to sign a disclaimer about 100 pages long! It is a relatively easy job but you need to make sure it's done properly.

I assume it is to put a baby seat in the front?

Wise to consult your insurance as disabling safety features tends to be frowned upon.

Hope this helps

I doubt you will find anyone who will do this for you - also frowned upon by insurers
Q
but why?
baby seats far better in the rear - safer and less distracting
