I.T Bods and Scoobys.
Is it my imagination or are a disproportionate number of you guys, when compared with the unwashed masses :-
1. Working in the I.T industry or
2. Called Ian or
3. Both
Maybe I've just wandered into the twilight zone.
Cheers, Ian (I.T Bod)
P.S Sorry if this is off topic.

Only IT managers can sit looking at Scoobynet all day without getting a roasting from the IT Manager!

Chris
Not in IT exactly, but can justify being on the net all day if I'm careful.

At least I spell my name the correct way
I work at a largish computer firm in Newbury, and there are at least 4 Scoobs (including mine). I went karting the other week with a team from work, (it was an I.T. themed race meet) and there must have been half a dozen of the things in the car park. I guess us I.T gurus just have impecable taste
Cheers,
Iain

Think you're right - does seem to be an IT thing (I get the feeling that there are a lot of petrolheads in the IT business).
At my (IT) firm we've got two Impreza turbos (we've also got a couple of TVRs and a T5 - we end up taking the TVR owners down to the garage when their cars break down
).

Our company are up to 4 turbos and a couple of sports with a least two more on the way. Company supplied cars are A4's, BMW's (don't park in Birmingham) and Mercs. I opted out, took the monthly allowance and got a real car. Its the BMW drivers that drool over the Scoobies the most.

Couldn't agree more Ken.
I do a lot of work with Motorola in Crawley. Their car park is full of the usual BM/Audi saloons. Guess who's car gets more comments than anyone else's?

we've got 2 turbos where i work now as a m8 just bought a MY99 to add to MY00.
and another one up the road a bit at another office.
plus a sport and a legacy.
perhaps i better do a survey of the whole company and see how many turbos exist in an organisation of about 9000 employees ?
another turbo on the way i reckon as one of our IT contractors has been wanting one for a while to.
adds a bit of class to the lease cars cluttering up the car park..........astras, vectras, a3's and a4's

well pt, toward end of last yr my place were getting rid of lots and lots of IT contractors.
they'd been offering me a FT job for a while so i thought it was the time to say yes and negotiate a reasonable (but still very low compared to contracting) salary.
i'm too attached to living down here to want to go elsewhere and i've done my few years of being somewhere different 3 days of the week every week !
still it bought me a scoob and some other stuff so i'm not complaining.
if you being offered nearly the same to go permanent perhaps its worth it ? it was for me.
yeah IR35 didn't look good at the time neither so i made me choice and i'm happy.
