How do you fit a stereo into an STI vers 5 dash, just fitted my pocket but then can't understand how head unit fits in, because the plastic surround on the dash is too big?????

Very puzzled the head unit would fit in from behind but then the front wouldn't go on.

If you mean the plastic surround on the actual head unit, IIRC sometimes you can just pop them off.

Is that what you mean?

 

If the plastic surround on the dash is still on then you can't slide a head unit thru the hole, so if you fit it from behind how does the front come out/off??
