Question

Cossie 370bhp
Impreza 250bhp

120bhp differance
cossie 30kg heavier
Impreaza approx 270lb/ft torque unsure of cossie

Would the Cossie easily beat it, or would it take a bit of effort?

Off the line, if it's a 2wd cossie, the imprezza would win. Above 1st gear, the cossie would get it's power down and would pull away easily - more power, lower transmission losses.

Of course "round the twisties in the wet the scooby will beat any car ever designed". I'm sure I read this here, so it must be true.

How long before this thread turns into a full on muppet match?

If its me driving, the Cossie would be toast as I have a mechanism in place that prohibits me from speeding. (The Wife)

if the cossie owner said it was 370 bhp it will probably be around 320bhp as they all add 50bhp to the figures

mark- do you know anything about the cossie like what injectors, boost, turbo, etc???

I'd agree with JohnnyGav as 300'ish is quite simple and cheap to achieve with Cossie lump, greens, -31 actuator, fuel pump, and a chip and your away, however a genuine 370bhp is starting to get expensive!

However there are a lot of Cossies out there running this power, and in my experience a loy of Cossie owners talk down there cars ability so beware

Is Mellow the guy from up Norf Chris someone if it is, he bought my Escort Cossie of me and the pictures in his house of his various track exploits, nearlly everyone has the motor on 2 wheels

Havent got the car yet but the guy im buying from has proven figures.

If i do the deal on sunday i'll scan them in. The engines had 20k spent on it so the figures quoted are realistic for the money spent.

I'd go for the cossie everytime.

I sold my 2wd saff 6 months ago. That was 350-390bhp depending on what boost i was running. It was awesome.

Am now considering sellin the scoob to go back to a cossie, hopefully a 3dr this time.

22psi seems a tadge low for that sort of power, my Escort Held 22psi and that was 296bhp although it did have a CAT exhaust.

Johny i cant wait to get back to owning a cossie again. I love them to bits. I like my scoob but it's not a cossie. I want a 3 door and was going to get one but this came up so the 3 door will be put on hold for a year or 2.

Andy cant comment on that will be able to tell more on sunday.
