More of an if than a when. The prototype I drove was running a group a rear diff, so the key factors are going to be making (or sourcing) a rear diff strong enough to take the stresses but refined enough for road use, and also the cost, which personally I think will be the limiting factor. The adjustable centre diff alone is expensive enough, without adding the cost of the electronics / sensors / rear diff / installation / warranty etc.
As much as I hope I am proved wrong, I don't expect to see a version of this on the aftermarket, rather it will be developed for inclusion on future cars, Subaru or otherwise.
Either way I would bet my last dollar this system will make a high profile appearance sometime soon. It deserves to, it's above and beyond anything else I've driven.
