What oil/petrol for UK turbo?

Andy.
Both the oil and UL/SUL dabate are long running and very much down to personal choice.
Currently, I use Castrol Magnatec and SUL.
I may switch to Mobil Motorsport (NOT Mobil 1) soon though.
I have found that the extra cost of SUL is offset by the extra mpg I get when driving 'enthusiastically'. It also offers supposedly better protection for the engine.
It's worth doing a search for more info on these topics though.

I've got my new scooby (UK model imported from Holland) booked in for it's 1K service on Monday. When I was booking, the service manager asked what type of oil I wanted - normal or fully synthetic (an extra £25)? He recommends fully synthetic if I'm going to drive the car 'as it was designed to be driven'. What is the general opinion on this?
Also, what petrol do most folks use - normal unleaded (95RON) or super (97/98RON)? So far I have been only using 95RON (on my 4th tankful). How much improvement would I see by using super, and is it worth the £3.50 extra each time I fill up?
Cheers,
Andy

Andy,
If its any help I've had my UK Turbo for about 15 months and have always used a fully synthetic oil. My dealer used Shell Helix and then Mobil 1 Motorsport at my request following the 7,500 mile service.
I agree with Stef regarding SUL, and the car definately feels like it pulls better when you use it.

I would have to agree with Blubbs and Stef - SUL does seem to give better 'grunt' and slightly better MPG - Iv'e been running mine (MY99 UK car) on normal unleaded for the last 1000 miles or so and i am about to go back to SUL. i believe it takes about 250 miles for the ecu to update to the new feul type, can anyone confirm this for me please?
OIL - Mobil Motorsport - i believe Mobil One is too thin???.
