Just bought Japanese Performance magazine and theres an interesting little tale that Mitsubishi dealers are now accepting grey imports for servicing and parts orders. Why don't Subaru dealers do the same? When you think how many imports are on the the road in the UK theres a large amount of money to be made for supplying goods. Doubt it will ever happen though...

I have got a 1993 WRX
that my main dealer has fitted new clutch, cambelt, and serviced twice (one major and one minor) but I know that they will not touch STI versions. this was acheived by showing an interest in buying a new u k spec one from them and my apparent hesitation shown to them when I said that I would be more likeley to if they would service mine.
e-mail me for info if any more is required - Jim.

SGT in Taplow serviced my STI IV no problem. In fact thinking back they even had a STI for sale on the forecourt!
