Here we go again...
Hey, people bought a car, not joined some kind of club. They can wave if they want to, or ignore you - their choice and drivers shouldn't be pilloried for that choice. Life's too short.
I've had over 9 years of Impreza Turbo/WRX ownership, and back in April '94 when I got my first, most didn't know what the car was, so seeing another on the road was an event. It's a bit different now.
I always nod or wave if someone waves to me (and I see them), but I don't bother otherwise. I prefer to concentrate on driving.

Don't tar everyone with the same brush. I've been completely blanked by as many people in 'classics' as I have new Scoobs.

More interesting experiment is to wave at the boys from the darkside....interesting responses, most wave back some studiously ignore you occasionally get a two fingered wave but most at least smile, same goes for most jap high performance cars you do feel a bit of a prat though and I woldn't normally do it.
Have to agree, so many scoobs out there now,I tend to wave if waved at these days

I always wave from my shiny new STI7 but get blanked a lot. I guess all you classic owners are to embarrassed and just try and hide

I am beginning to think Ann R is right about the Welsh !!
In 5 days visit to N Wales I waved at all scoobs (and there are lots !) and only got one returned.
Maybe they realised I was English !

I've noticed a distinct lack of waving from Buglys whilst pootering around in my MY03 WRX. Many-a-wave from the pre-bugs though... just an observation. Always put it down to bugs having a chip on their shoulder for having shelled out more than me for a worse car
No offence BTW.

"having shelled out more than me"
Depends on the deal you did... Mine was very, very good and I'm still delighted with my 02 WRX PPP. My Wife loves her 03 Sportswagon. We're both happy.
Cheers
