Hi all, just trying to get my head around this as I giong to get one (4/5) when I can shift my ctr,
Is there a difinitive guide as to when these models changed over?
I read the guide on the sidc and it states very clearly when these models changed, and what the changes were however when browsing the classifieds I noticed that there were v4's advertised and they had the my97 dash etc and on some v5 they didnt have the facelift bumper etc (my99) and what was the bhp on these models? I'm a little confused and dont want to buy something that isnt what its advertised, I hope these points makes sense to someone! Cheers Taffyboyo.

Cheers the more I look the confused I get
Does the sti's have 280 bhp (which most are advertised)
or are they all have 300ps(post 1998)

 

Version 4 onwards are all claimed 280ps can't remember earlier models
V4 will have the phase 1 engine
V5< Phase 2..
Unless its been replaced of course..
Look out for the tell tale signs thou like you found out already, interior, trim etc, I noticed a few were late registered earlier cars claiming to be newer when i was looking.. this seems common with many grey imports?
Check the model code on the vin plate, should tell u what it is..
