Unhappy

Used the Air Con for the first time properly since I got the car (96 STi V2).
whats the best optimum setting ? (turn dial below 20 to blue dot..press a/c button and then leave it till you freeze..) If so mine's not working properly, never get a really cold blast out the vents. Do I need a re-gas, anyone know rough cost?? need to fix this quick with summer fast approaching..

Showtime,

Is the other dial on "Auto" or are you choosing a fan speed ? - My car always seems colder when using the manual setting (???)

Anyhow, I had my A/C radiator replaced when it was punctured and the subsequent gas refill cost £75 + VAT from Roger Clark Motorsport in Leicester (01455-828610).

IHTH

Thanks

Gavin

Your turning the ***** the right way for max cold, unless you were ragging it (when the compressor will disengage) it sounds like time for a re-gas. probably due for it anyway.

p.s. You should use your a/c once a week or so for 5-10 mins to keep seals from perishing, which can lead to gas loss and £££££

Question

A friend of mine owns a company specialising in truck refrigeration.

If there was enough interest, he may come and do this sort of thing the next time we ar at Donington?

Needs to be done properly, there is a £10,000 fine for illegally releasing refrigerant gas into the atmosphere, (or something like that).

Express any interest, and I will see how much he will charge for doing it?

Mike.

Thanks Guys..I 've just read somewhere else that a/c units lose about 15% efficiency per year. given my car is almost 4 years old tells me the answers..off for a re-gas then..
