Am I being conned by Subaru...?
Here's the thing, I bought my first Impreza in March 2003, a UK 1996 Turbo wagon with about 82k on clock and full stamped service history. The dealer that I purchased the car from wasn't a Subaru dealer but did a full service and stamped the service book accordingly. Wanting to keep the car clean, I paid Subaru to service the car again, it was the 75k service, done at 84092 miles in April. I received a phonecall from Saubaru this week saying that the car was due the 85k service. Can this be right when it was only done 2.5 months ago and since then I've done 3500 miles?
At the risk of boring you all, the service history is as follows:
7.5k service - at 8497 miles
15k service - at 13081 miles
22.5k service - at 19220 miles
30k service - at 26896 miles
37.5k service - at 34641 miles
45k service - at 41039 miles
52.5k service - at 49802 miles
60k service - at 58633 miles
67.5k service - at 65474 miles
?? service - at 75142 miles
?? service - at 81950 miles ( when purchased )
75k service - at 84092 miles ( done by Subaru after purchase )
According to Subaru, the next service was only due in October or at ?? miles ( I can't read the mileage proposed ).
Sorry it's long winded, but I'd appreciate some feedback on this before I fork out another £130.00 for what seems like an ordinary oil-change.
Chers all, hope you've woken up after reading this.
Skoosh.

Most probably a marketing **** up, when they book you in for service they go through a number of different selections, probably entered the wrong one causing the error, they probably have your last serviced logged as a MOT or similar.
You have your stamp in your service book and your last invoice so no problem.

But surely your car is overdue the big one that is 90k service as the 2 ?? services should still be a milage type related one so you can't really then just start from 67.5 again
just a 90k service for example is either after 90k miles or 6 years if doing on the time scale or a combination of less. In other words a MY96 even if doing no miles should of had it's 90k service which i'm afraid to say is the biggest one you can get, so while they may have yer next service booked in a little soon if i'm reading it correct & it has done neither 7.5k miles or 6 months since the last somewhere it has missed out on the desired work as per the servicing schedule
no biggy but i'm afraid yer due a £700 service rather than a quick oil change un IMO

BTW thou if yer dealer is telling you it's due a 85k service then that is also wrong as it should be 82.5k or 90k service so ask for a discount for their error if they did say 85k
Si
PS i believe the schedule did change for later cars but that don't include the MY96 i'm afraid
