Can anyone please shed some light on my problem

My 98MY WRX type R has developed a misfire or partial throttle, it will go through it and run OK and smoothly but it is severe when it occurs

I have checked for pipes off but can't find any, could it be the MAF sensor, mine is the 3 wire type with an orange label, i have been told these are reliable?

help it is killing me not knowing!

 

MAF or Airflow meter?Get the computer diagnostics sorted before the engine is wrecked.Hurry up!!!

Thanks, Dropped the car off, it ran sweet as (didn't use boost though it was tempting to "test")

they are not convinced it is the MAF sensor due to it being a 3 pin orange label as these are supposed to be reliable

could it be ignition leads, i did check and they seemed ok, just my luck they won't be able to find anthing GRRRRR!!!

 

just get a new air flow meter, its a common complaint, i know scoobbies that have had 3 or 4 on. it's worse if you run a cone filter, seems to knack em pretty quick.
