Just saw the article on the new Anti tail gating cameras.
Just to test them the BBC got the makers to set the cameras to flash drivers who were going over 50HPH in a 90KPH and who were following less than 5 seconds behind.
Needless to say it was flashing every driver who drove past. Now on a scale of 1-10 how dangerous is having a massive flashgun going off every second in front and behind you as opposed to driving 4 miles an hour over the limit in good conditions etc etc?
This was a stupid irresponsbile stunt. I half expected to hear a loud crash part way through the item.

5 seconds! Hmm, yes, good one. What's the saying they teach you? Oh yes, "Only a fool break the 2 second rule. Not 5 seconds.
You try and maintain a 5 sec gap on a motorway and still get where you are going within a week.

I saw this too, and it struck me as dangerous as well.
We all know there is bunching around traffic cameras, but with this device people will be slowing down for a camera as usual. However they would have to slow considerably quicker than the car in front to create the 2 second gap (given that they respond to, rather than anticipate, the slowing of the preceeding car). Imagine the fifth car in a series of cars doing 80 with a reasonable 2 second gap having to do an emergency stop in lane 3. Beggars belief...
