hi looking for some advice just bought my first scooby 93 wrx import the two vents either side of the scoop are coverd from under neath but covers can be removed why?

 

Don't uncover them!!! Water gets in...lands on fuse box ( or induction kit, if fitted) and you can get problems. Also, esp if you have an induction kit fitted, opening vents... fast air going fast over top of bonet vent...sucks up hotter air from lower in engine bay, and out of little vent hole. Net effect is to reduce performance by increasing air intake temp going into filter (or induction kit as prev mensioned).
