Hi chaps!

I'm new to the Scoobys and am thinking about importing one from Japan.

Can anyone tell me where to find info about the different models.

I am after a '97 Blue with Gold Wheels and a 4 door version.

Is that the STI? I don't know...

Any help would be greatfully received.

Many thanks
Peter Miller.

Hi Peter

Welcome! Now look at www.sidc.co.uk and look ander the FAQ section. It details most models both here and abroad, what chassis numbers mean, what power the car had and is a wealth of info. It is a shame its not up to date with STi6, 7's etc but very useful none the less.

Thanks for the prompt response. I've had chance to have a quick read of the FAQ's

I would like the WRX STI (more power etc)

From what I can gather, this is available in 4 door version - do you know if they came in the nice metallic blue with gold wheels? (or is that another model? If so which one?)

Thanks
PEte

If you ask for a "sonic blue" car off any reputable importer they'll know what you mean.

Sti 4 is a good car to go for. Not too much different to Sti 5/6.
Nice colour too.
Look for accident damage. Milage isn't always Kosher on many Jap cars. But you do get more for your money.

Best wishes
Steve
P.S. I have an import.

Try Tesco's for the insurance.
Took a small fortune of my lowest quote. I then went back and beat my broker up with the quote and he beat it.
Pay's to shop around and be Bolshy.
I too have an STi4 and its the Mutts.

Maybe just imports then, but also heard they arent taking anymore policies on impreza but again that maybe just a rumour I heard on here. They did a great quote for me though as I am an old git .

Tesco also require a tracker and cat 1.
