Just purchased new STi PPP
#1
First of this is my first post to the forum, so hello everyone.
I have just purchased, and collect next Saturday, a new WRX STi with PPP, the dealer I chose had one sitting in their showroom. How lucky is that? I though I would have to order one and wait a few months. Still, I think this is going to be a long week.
As I am purchasing the car with the PPP and 18" wheels are these considered as "modifications" as far as the insurance company is concerned? I am sure I remember dicsussions elsewhere on other forums that said if the car is purchased new with options they are not considered as modifications, but standard. Of course I told the insurance company the car value is higher.
Thanks.

First of all, Welcome to Scoobynet.
Great choice, you'll love it!
In answer to your questions, both the PPP and the 18s are not standard, so you need to tell your insurance company.
In my case, the PPP put up the premium by less than 10% and the 18s made no difference.
All you have to do if you stay on SN is to wave goodbye to your sanity.

It will be a long week, no doubt about that.
You will have to notify the insurance company that you have had the PPP and the 18" rims.
If you have any insurance problems try Greenlight Insurance, they are excellent for modified scoobies.
For your first 1000 miles you will have to run the scoobie in so don't exceed 4000 rpm as it will have running in oil in the engine which is no thicker than water.
Have fun

I always shop round for insurance esp. when it goes up 800 in one year and no changes except the insurance company didnt like imprezas or me anymore .
Tried Privilege and wanted silly money. Managed to get it for 1000 with, interior, exterior, wheels, engine and exhaust mods listed on top of the that they finally wanted to know what RA meant LOL.
