MY03 mods......anyone started? Advice please.

Will pick up my MY03 WRX in Italy soon, and unfortunately we don't have PPP nor other dealer-supplied options 
.
Thus, I very much need some advice on the following:
Backbox - objectives are much more noise and some more hp - anyone fitted just a backbox to MY03? What types/results?
Wheels - objectives are better looks (hate standard rims) and better grip - does the MY03 respond better to 17" lightweight wheels with better tires, or go for 18"? Which models/offsets fit?
