Cool

I AM PRESENTLY SEARCHING FOR A
WRX STI WITH £6K PLUS A K92 SAPPHIRE COSSIE TO P/X
CAN ANYONE GIVE ME A FEW POINTERS ABOUT THE PITFALLS/
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING A
STI.
WHAT IS MOST CONFUSING IS THAT
SOME SO-CALLED STI'S HAVE THE NORMAL WRX REAR SPOILER, OTHERS HAVE THE HIGHER ONE. ALSO THE BONNET VENTS HAVE VARIED. WHEN DID THE DIFF LOCK
APPEAR? K/L/M/N?
HOW DOES THE RA VERSION DIFFER?
SO MANY QUESTIONS I KNOW BUT
I WANT TO AVOID GETTING A SHED/WRX IN DISGUISE ETC ETC
CHEERS FOR ANY REPLIES
PS, HOW MUCH DOES AN AUTO GEARBOX SLOW A WRX DOWN?

The early STi's came with a low spoiler as wel, some had aftermarket ones fitted, like the UK MY99 cars did.

The STi is instantly recognised by the RED CRACKLE GLAZED manifold. Open the bonnet and all will be revealed. They also have a carbon strut brace and all sti's came with gold wheels, pink grill badge. The V-Ltd had a roof vent, the RA, generally white is the stripped out lightweight version designed for rallying, short ratio gearbox etc..lots of other points, but look under the bonnet.

If you are still not sure when looking at one, check the chassis number against the numbers listed in the

Give Auto-Tecnica a call on 01924 494884 and speak to Steve, I'm sure he'll answer your questions (and find you a car!).
