I have light guards on both headlights and spotlights on my current car. Never had a problem with stone damaging the guards. Is is it worth spending the money and getting guards for the Wrx when it arrives ??.

Anybody knows if they sell them yet???. I think spotlight guards are probably a must as they are low to the ground. But the headlights are not a smooth shape they have a round bulge on the main beam and a sticky out triangle but at the top so it may be difficult to do a guard for them. Is the spotlight the same as the my02 ?? will that guard fit how do they stay on ??.

Does the armourfend film they sell for the lights work I cant imagine it stopping a light being smashed.

thoughs and comments greatly appreciated.

I think that as soon as you take off your light guards,or not put them on as the case may be,your lights will automatically attract a stone and will be smashed.

Its called sods law.

Best to be safe than sorry.

Light guards are cheap, replacement lights are expensive, speaks for itself.

MY01> headlamp glasses are made of polycarbonate, and it is a complete waste of money putting lamp protectors on them - the lamps are stronger than the protectors!

That's fine but the protector will at least serve as a first line of defence for whatever is out there.

I have looked around on the weshops and I now have the my03 brochure with the accesories in the back and looks like no official headlight or spotlight guards.

will have to keep checking back for if a 3rd party makes some.

cheers for your thoughts.

Where did you get your MY03 brochure from?

I've been waiting for ages for one, filled a form in at The Motorshow, filled in the info on Scooby UK site, visited dealer still nothing!

Andy.

My local dealer got a job lot of them in last weekend. I think most dealers should have them by now...

I've always be a great advocate of headlamp protectors, but I simply can't see how you'd fit anything over the '03 lights.

They're not issimial to something like a Yaris, in that they're fairly steeply angled face, but the '03 has that single bulge for the side lights (indicator triangle is flush).

Given the state of the headlamp on my Wife's car after three years (mint) I would tend to suggest that the angle at which objects hit the face of these lights, coupled with the materials used, would probably make protectors unnecessary.

Also, the trouble with putting a pastic covering on a surface that transmits light is that any slight damge or scuffing could well effect the lamps' efficiency.
