MY01 Boost Level help!
#1
General consensus in drivetain is that my MY01 PPP + Decat is running dangerous amounts of boost (Peaking at 1.4 bar in cold but normally about 1.3 in 3rd 4th and 5th). Currently trying to get hold of a Knocklink.
Obviously worried now and scared to drive "on boost", if current levels are too high, what is my next course of action. Car back to dealer or elsewhere?
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers
Chris
P.S. Mods, please leave here for a while as not getting much response at the moment in drivetrain.

I am not very technical but read a few threads, the STi7 boost spiked when having a full decat. I would talk to your dealer and consider either a different size restrictor fitted or put some of the cats back on, IIRC it was the uppipe cat which caused the STi problems, but I maybe wrong.
Maybe worth asking this question in general technical or drivetrain or searching for boost problems unsing the search facility.

Thanks Chrisp,
did a search but didn't reveal anything that I didn't already know i.e. that the boost may be too high.
I remember the threads about spiking on the STI7 but didn't think that the WRX suffered the same effects.
Mutant-matt now to the rescue in drivetrain
Cheers
