Talking

I'm test driving the STI8 at the weekend. If I like it I want to P/X my UK300. What should I realistically be looking as a p/x price on MY01 UK300? Registered Sep 01 and currently has 9800 miles. Private Plate, Turbo Timer and ITG Panel filter.

I had a chat about this with my dealer they are bidding 18K for Sti's and 14-15K for UK300's I just laughed and said anyone with a STi 7 would be mad to part with 7 grand as there's really not much difference between the two.
Save your money mate and sell yours privately and buy a 6 mth old STi 7 You SHOULDN'T lose much on that in a year or two.
Just sold my Sti 7 Prodrive for £19750 and I think I was lucky to get that.

Cool

I've just seen some more pictures of the STI8, and I'm still not sure if I like it. I think your right about waiting for a good STI7. I can't believe they would drop £10k in just over a year. These are limited editions and should hold their prices better. Subaru have a lot to answer for with bringing out the new 03 so soon after.

The STi7 was never intended to be a limited edition, although that's what they turned out to be.

Even my dealer said he thought it wasn't very clever selling STi7s at the moment. Leave it a few months and the prices will improve.

IMHO a good STi7 is a hell of a lot of car for the stupid prices they're commanding at the moment, and would be a very good buy.

If you mean the UK300 should hold its price as its a special edition, then I think you're in for a surprise. I would have thought it was obvious it was only ever a stop gap option until the "proper" STi was availabe.

18 months down the line with New STi8s @ 25K, Euro imports @ 22K and second hand STi7s floating around the appeal of a UK300 will be very limited - unfortunately...

Think about it, dealers don't need STI7 part exchanges yet, the face lift was designed to get pre my01 Impreza owners who don't like the bug eyes to buy a new car, dealers won't want their show rooms full of bug eyes.

I have been offered £16,000 for my MY01 WRX with UK300 Spoiler and lights and WR Sport Back Box...oh and a tracker. Its just done 11,000 miles. That was from a Subaru Main Dealer as a trade in against a MY03 STi. That was their opening offer!
