MY03 Euro prices
#1
Seen lots of news coverage recently announcing the MY03 prices as £19 995 for the WRX - down £1 500 (unless it effects existing residuals, sorry!)
Does anyone know if this is likely to effect euro import prices? Could we be on the verge of a £15k new WRX? I suppose its a question of who has instigated the price drop (IM/Subaru UK) or Subaru/Subaru Europe??
Is anyone talking to importers at the moment, or any importers reading? And any clues as to when the euro prices will be announced?

I have been looking, see my thread about New Euro imports (p3)
.
All prices as far as I've been told will remain the same from the import channels, this is due to a price freeze on the continent!
It is only the UK that has lowered prices, which is in relation to some Legislation coming out later on in the year, which if I remember rightly relates to imports and dealers price fixing, but correct me if I'm wrong!
Therefore Subaru UK are jumping the gun by reducing prices now (according to my dealer)....but competition from Ford RS Focus, VW golf R32 etc may also have an added effect.

Thanks for the info Beano.
Yes Focus RS was the 1st thing that sprang to mind re the price reduction and the competition.
So the price options are narrower: £20k UK vs. ~£16.4k Euro. Closer than was but still a no-brainer for most???...
