I need a little help on some basic part#'s for oil filters etc for the above car. The actual box that contains the parts has 'Legacy' written on it; however, the gentleman that brought the parts in from Japan for me ensures me that these are the correct parts for the STI. Do the Legacy etc share parts with the impreza and the STi impreza ?

Oil filter: 15208AA024, Part# 15208
Spark Plug: NGK PFR7G
Fuel Filter: 42072AA011
Air filter: 16546AA020

The reason this whole query came about was because of the "STI-7 goes bang" thread which has a pic of a STI air filter on page 10 which looks nothing like my air filter. Also, the air filter box I have says 'Legacy' which I found strange. Why wouldn't they design a special air filter for the high performance STi ?

Please help me out.

I can't say if they are the same or not, but I can tell you that the one John disected is not a factory fit item, but the aftermarket STi panel filter.

If you take a look at your standard one, you may be surprised to see that they are indeed the same... Plugs may also be the same IIRC - platinum jobs. Oil filters are generally shared accross the range, too.
