Hello Scooby people!!
#1
Thought i'd have a browse on here because i'm looking into buying a Scoob at the end of the year. I'm 21 years old and been learning and honing my driving skills in a very popular hot hatch since i brought it 2 years ago, don't really wanna tell you lot what it is cos your rip the pi55 !! Anyway, what i really want to know is, what's the difference between the Impreza WRX and Impreza WRX STI? Apart from the BHP that is, i know the WRX has 215 bhp and the STI has 261 bhp.

Well it does me for the moment but i thought saying i owned a Saxo on Scoobynet would be just stupid! One question though, what does it mean when you put 'MY' before the car?

Saxo Boy? I bet i know him already, he probally goes under a different name on here to SaxoSportsClub.
Anyway, could you tell me a good website mate to look up Scooby performance times? Such as 0-60, 0-100 and 1/4 mile etc..

Hi Ralphie, ImprezaBoy at your service
Are you with Citroen Insurance? If so when you complete your free year claim free you should get a 6 year NCD (guessing you know this by now anyway) which will make the scooby a realistic proposition.
Being a Y-reg VTS there is a good chance it is a 130bhp version like mines was (x-reg) in that case you should know that the 215bhp Uk turbos are not that much quicker in a straight line (zip ). Budget to modify or go for an import. What ever you do I recommend a full-decat as the sound is to die for!
Also leave £140 for bumpsteer and geometry as without the front end will understeer too easily which will really annoy you after the VTS.
One last thing, thoroughly research the running costs as believe me the scooby is way way WAY more expensive to keep on the road

Some might say that Scoobs bring along all of their own problems. Piston slap, paintwork etc, etc. IMO it doesn't matter what you buy, every marque has their own issues.
Classic shape Scoobs do have this very issue. A quick and easy remidy is to do a full decat. You won't hear a lot in this case other than a rather loud throbbing.
Loads of rattles
