Chipped Screen - Help!
#1
Picked up a chip in the windscreen today, thanks to a flying rock from nowhere, ( or maybe the other side of road !).
Have I read somewhere that there are firms that do professional fixes that are nigh on perfect?
Chip is drivers side, damn smack central, not too big 1/8 to 1/4 inch max, but already its annoying me.
Please recommendations for London south of the river or northwest kent 'ish. Thanks in advance.
And no I wasn't on someones tail, open road A3 (lovely).

Had the same happen to mine, 3 days old.
Contact your insurer to see which windscreen company they use/recommend. Mine was repairable and better still free of charge.
They inject a resin into the crack. As I understand it, most of what you see is air. Forgot to say think the company was Silver Shield.

Stick a piece of clear sticky tape or something over it for now so it doesnt get filled with salty dirt.
Most windscreen places do chip repair that is almost perfect.
If you are insured fully comp with a big company, call them and tell them the story, they will probably send you to whatever place they use to get it done. If it can be repaired, it probably wont cost you anything and doesnt count as a claim either so wont affect your premium.
I got a cracked screen and Direct Line sent me to an Autoglass place. It wasnt repairable so they replaced it. This only cost me my £50 windscreen excess.
