Hello everyone!

I have just purchased a new reg plate for my WRX and was wondering about a few things!

Firstly, are there any decent letter/number designs which people know of?
Also, opinions on "slogans" under the plate. I have a feeling that it is a little "wide", and does anyone have any good ones?

Finally, has anyone got pics of the Scoobymania plates which are supposed to be rather nice?

Thanks in advance!

Jon.

I will also add to this.
What is the miniumum size a reg plate can be for the front of the car.
I ask this because I am sure that I saw the scoobies on the Network Q last year with tiny front number plates. As they were going on normal roads aswell, I assumed they would have to be legal. But isnt there a minumum?

What about the back ?

My local car store sells two sizes
8" x 11" & 8" x 13"

They seem to be a little too big (high) to fit the rear of my STi II, and I was thinking of cutting one down a little.

The regulations relating to number plates are depedant on the height of the letters.

There are two heights allowed for cars 79mm and 89mm. If you are using 79mm tall letters then both the top and side margins should be a minimum of 11mm. For 89mm tall letters the top margin has to be a minimum of 13mm and the side margin 25mm.

Also you can buy any size and style plate you wish and there are stacks of companies who will make them for you. This doesn't mean that your local traffic dept will let you get away with them.

As far as I can recall it's either a defect rectification, 20 quid fine or getting your number revoked by the DVLA if you're caught with non conforming plates on a regular basis.

Keith.

The size of a number plate depends on the registration number that has to go on it.
ie. If you only have a six digit number or a seven digit number with say a '1' in it, the plate can be made smaller as long as the letters and numbers and spacings are the correct size and width.
Give a company called AUTOREG a call 01254 663213 they do mail order supplied plates for bikes and cars and can do any size plate you require at resonable cost.

The best looking plate design is the standard one .
surely you can't get insurance for a Scoob if you are young enough to read MAX POSER Magazine ?!!!!
