Rats deserting a sinking ship. Nobody wants to swallow the olympic depreciation of the 7 when the 8 arrives. Although they will all be "genuine" reasons for sale. Better off with a P1.

Well I know of 2 that arnt for sale! Personally I'm not convinced by the STi8, not sure why.

If i were to sell the cars, I'd probably go for an Evo 8 next time around.

Or perhaps due to a change in circumstances some people only drive them once a week at most and therefore may as well have 400bhp and a weight of 1350kg

Have seen 3 for sale on this board. One changed his mind and now not selling, another selling due to moving house. Looks like a huge ground swell of opinion here to back up your arguement!!!!!

You also seem to have missed out that this is a Subaru BB and that the chances are that you will get more "higher priced, later model" cars on it
As for P1's..... ive seen 5 or so for sale on here at one time so it means nothing.

Perhaps it's because:-

Fuel consumption is so poor and super unleaded fuel is a minimum requirement

The ride is so hard your fillings are likely to fall out

Driving at low speeds feels mind numbing

The chance of being car jacked is higher (not sure about that one)

Have to say I'm happy with mine though it's far from perfect. This is my 3rd Scooby in 5 years and all have been very good at what they do. My MY97 and MY2000 were all rounders, the STi on the other hand must be driven hard for full on entertainment. Not easy/legal on congested roads, built up areas etc..

Go on get one!

With the Prodrive 18" and the PPP, it's ballistic!

and remember it's a special edition.....

Just wondering, if they brought out a special edit next year, would it be a WRX STi PS2

Its nothing to do with STi 8, its just people do get bored with cars quickly (like myself) I've had 4 Subaru's in the last 18 mths I'm sure the main people who slag this car off are
A/ The people who can't afford one

B/ The people who haven't driven one.

I personally think this is one of the best cars on the road at the moment for speed, reliability and safety.

STi 8 whats the difference ??

Different headlamps, sticky out bits on the rear lights and a different steering wheel. Lol
Oh almost forgot a slightly different ECU so that people with
STi 7's can't swap their PPP's over.

Thumbs down

I was going to post a massive flame on Jimmy here saying how scoobynet really annoys me sometimes when we all start on each other, but then read jimmy's second post

Your first post did look like a massive dose of sour grapes, but your second post clarifies it.

Drive one, they're fantastic, pick one up for a bargain price if you can find one and just drive the thing

Nick.

IMHO,
The STi8UK is a STi7UK with different lights and bits "n" bobs I'll stick with my limited edition bugeyes

The STi8 JDM or Type "C" will be worth having a look at otherwise wait for the STi9UK

Tony

Ps Merry Christmas

There are few more changes than that (changes to front suspension mounting points, bigger intercooler etc) but I can't believe they'll be that much different to drive, so you'd be just as well off with a 7 as an 8.

I saw the '8' at the motorshow, I can't say I liked the looks. It almost made me think the '7' was better looking

The '8' scoop is 'very' big, almost too big.

It probably didn't help that Arron 'distraction' Bird was outside the car waving at me to have a coffee. At least that's what I thought the hand gesture (coffe bean hand shake) was?

The '7' I drove was tempting indeed and I'm sure the PPP would cure the low down lack of power. The figure to change from my MY00 was just a tad too high....

This low down lack of power ?????
I don't have a problem with mine its all about using the gears properly. Babber drove mine on Saturday and mentioned this also, he can't understand what all the fuss is mine pulls strongly from 2k onwards ???

I have found that mine has improved loads with more miles on the clock. When it was first run in it didn't feel that hairy *rsed, but now with 10k on the clock it really feels a lot quicker. Will now hang the back end out with only moderate provocation.

Charlie.

so if we have the fugly, what will the 8/9 be called? I quite like *blob eye* but I think something a bit more disparaging is needed. How about *the munter*. "Nice car mate, bit of a munter though".

STi7(UK)/PPP. Wall-to-wall grin. Now available in second hand. STi8(UK)/PPP may, or may not, be a fraction better, but surely hardly likely to be a quantum leap. Go for it!!
