Insurance (Yawn!)- Greenlight
Like so many BB'ers I was stunned by the rise in insurance premium at renewal (£600 up to £850).
I tried Greenlight- they bettered the price but insisted that a tracker system was fitted prior to accepting my business. This would be the case regardless of the policy offered.
Having to spend £300 (and then £75 a year) rather outweighs any potential saving made.
Is the 'fit a tracker or we're not interested' policy becoming the norm- I was a bit disappointed particularly as Greenlight seem to be the preferred option for many Scooby owners.
Or could it be that my circumstances made me more of a risk (MY99 / 17" Alloys / ITG / Scoobysport Back-box / Track days requirement)?

I changed to Greenlight about 4 months ago and they were quite happy with my Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser.
I live just outside Glasgow (relatively high risk insurance rating) but it may depend on individual areas.
My premium was £880 (31 yrs, Full NCB, Wife 28 to drive also) but this was the best quote I could get.

A mate has his Saxo VTS insured with Greenlight.
They want another £45 when he gets bigger brakes fitted (wonder if they'd give him money back if he fitted smaller brakes?) and £90 for alloys ... and it's supposed to be a modified policy!
Sounds like they have him over a barrel.

I'm with Greenlight (been with them 4 years now I think) starting with a Astra GSi and then a Cavalier Turbo and now with the Impreza and this year my insurance shot up to £795 but they never mentioned a tracker they we're happy with my CAT 1 and CAT 2 systems
Some one drove into me when I had the Cavalier and they were great sorting everything out for me.
