Bought my Sti V5 over 2 years ago. Paid about 6K less than
similar specced/aged P1.

With over 280bhp the performance is more than enough to care of the vast majority of cars on the road with relative ease.

Plusses:Not much more than standard UK price but get better engine gearbox, body kit etc. Closer to an Evo6 than standard UK car. Let someone else take initial depreciation. Rarer and more special than UK. Rear wiper/ elec folding mirrors.

Minus: Insurance cost/scarcity of brokers

I have not regretted buying import. Go for it.
Magazines, tv programmes, pundits all generally are anti import because they get their demo cars from the manufacturers/dealers who don't want us to buy cheaper/else where.

I'd like to see a scientific study into import versus domestic ownership. Even great mags like Evo are under pressure to push domestic...

My 2 cents....

Hi
Just joined the list. I am going to get an Impreza just after xmas and am not sure if I am wise going for and import as i have found some nice ones in Bristol. Or Should I go for a UK Spec. I realise insurance is probably more on the imports. Just wondered if someone could tell me the advantages and disadvantages.
Or if anyone here is selling a scooby just after xmas let me know if u r near the bristol area.

I have had both and the import is higher spec and significantly quicker. Insurance will be a lot more on the import for me its about 50% more, that FNCB and over 30.
