have noticed my front passenger door occasionally squealing when locking the car (particularly noticeable since i've set the alarm to lock/unlock doors with ignition).

should i be worried that a motors on the way out ? anyone else had this ? if it was a failing central locking motor, would it be covered by warranty and does it have to actually fail first ?

My MY99 Impreza does the same - I don't think you have got anything to worry about!

 

aha - at last a response to my dull thread. cheers fer that. just cautious of findin myself somewhere and not bein able to lock all the doors...

 

My MY99 too - and has been doing it for ages.

 

I've had this, too.(MY98 wagon)

It's very intermittent though, but annoying all the same.

Central locking works fine, so I'm not too fussed.

My Passenger door was squeling for ages & it is now dead, So perhaps it is a warning..
