Thought i'd share...
Picked up the new scoob on Wednesday night - best friend in tow and all that cheshire cat expressions all round e.t.c e.t.c - managed to get it home in one piece!!!
Took it out last night for a blip (once again gobsmacked!), and then decided to pilot my new Scoob to work this morning (thru Central London)
Now I would have been quite happy to pootle into work (HONEST!) just enjoying the sensation of second gear - but when the Aston Martin DB7 Vantage pulled up beside me and just looked at me like...well you know what I mean....

Anyway - to cut a long story short it took me 20 minutes to get to work (takes 40 on the train) And the Aston owner was absolutely mortified!!!

Every time I peel myself out of the car it takes about an hour for the grin to subside (and i've only driven it about 4 times!)

N.B. I'm not irresponsible (most of the time), and wouldn't normally do this sort of thing, but hey it was an Aston....

Any tips on driving the damn thing better would be more than welcome - i'm very unused to driving a turbo car...(Had a clio Williams 3 for the last 3 years)

I love my scoob

Cool

Welcome to the clan
Put a 2" x 2" piece of wood under your right pedal to restrict you from depressing it too far....erm....pretend you have to run it in for the first 100,000 miles at nothing above 2500 rpm's......erm....no..sorry.....can't help you at all.....just enjoy and be very aware at all times !
Happy scoobying

Congrats! Don't lift off mid corner if you are giving it some unless you like hedge cutting. Slow in fast out works best with these cars. On a wet roundabout it will understeer if you push it too early. Enjoy the midrange. Fill with SUL. They do bite if you get it wrong.

I'm in the same boat, not had my car long and I've come from a williams.

It feels really different, you could hang on to the corner in the *****(dry only)
You feel the extra wight of the subaru, which is unnerving sometimes.
i.e If your going round a fast sweeping bend and you have to change up mind bend you can feel the weight transfer as you take your foot off the accelerator, but it hangs on all the same.

Any one got any other driving tips??

I'd say my driving was average ,unlike most blokes who think there are F1 material, although I've never crashed.Had a few near misses though

See ya

Crispin,

There is some bloody good roads in Cornwall to test the Scoob!!Try the Davidstow road from Wadebridge. May well see you around as I drive to Exeter once or twice a week.

Cheers

Had a race with a Ferrari 355 the other day. He had to let me past at 120 mph. What a rush, the driver was a little suprised i think but took it well,he was busy putting his thumb up and smiling.
Once we reached traffic we dropped down to 50-60 mph and he didn't use the traffic to get past.
All in all it was fun and the Ferrari driver very good, it was nice to challenge a fast car and win without the other driver being an ***.
